Book Shoppping for the Holidays - what to buy?
A panel of book experts will guide you to the best books and hottest reads for children and teens. Robin Smith teaches at Ensworth and is known nationally for her expertise in children's literature. She currently serves on the Caldecott Committee. Dean Schneider, Robins' husband, also teaches at Ensworth Academy and shares the family passion for literature for teens and children. Dean is a former member of the Newbery Committee. Kate Pritchard manages the teen literature reviews for BookPage.
Amy Mason is is a specialist in children’s and teen literature at Davis-Kidd.

NY Times best selling author Donna VanLiere will speak. Last December, Donna's books were made into three holiday films on the Lifetime channel. (Note: Please be advised that WNBA programs adhere to the inclement weather policy of the Davidson County Public School System)
- Monthly meetings feature timely topics about books, authors and publishing.
- Elegant gatherings, such as our annual holiday dinner, commemorate special events.
- Book Discussion Group! This new group meets quarterly at the Richland Park branch of the Nashville Public Library.
- A summer reading series at Lipscomb University that explores a genre or an area of special interest, such as first-time authors, memoirs, or mysteries.
- The Southern Festival of Books gets a helping hand from WNBA members who assist with logistics,
author bookings and hospitality, and publicity.
- Local literacy initiatives such as RIF (Reading is FUNdamental), BOOK 'EM!, Tennessee Young Writers, and the Nashville Adult Literacy Council enjoy WNBA's active support.
- Our Athena Awards nomination offers WNBA an opportunity to showcase a member who demonstrates excellence in personal leadership, business and community service.
