National Reading Group Month – Coffee with Authors

Coffee with Authors Panel

The WNBA National Reading Group Month 2012 Signature Event was the Coffee with Authors, a part of the Southern Festival of Books. The event, held at the Nashville Public Library on Saturday, October 13, 2012, was a huge success. Over 260 attendees turned out to listen to the four featured authors discuss their books. Nina Cardona, Nashville Public Radio WPLN, moderated the event. The authors were:

Ben Fountain, Billy Lynn’s Long Half-time Walk: A Novel (Ecco/HarperCollins; 2012 National Book Award Finalist);

Christopher Tilghman, The Right-Hand Shore: A Novel (Farrar, Straus and Giroux; 2012 Great Group Reads Selection);

Gail Tsukiyama, A Hundred Flowers (St. Martin’s Press);

Karen Thompson Walker, The Age of Miracles (Random House)

 

 

Nashville Mayor Karl DeanNashville Mayor Karl Dean was on hand to present the National Reading Group Month Proclamation to the WNBA Nashville Chapter. The proclamation concluded by stating: “Now, therefore, be it resolved that I, Karl F. Dean, Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, do hereby join the Nashville Chapter of the Women’s National Book Association in celebrating National Reading Group Month and welcoming the distinguished group of featured authors to our city.”
